Last Thursday:
we left for North Carolina. I guess the ride was about 12-13 hours... people have to pee too often if you ask me. um i watched the OC in a hotel room, the headed to wal-mart to pick of some el vino. which was followed by finding our hotel that we would be staying at for the rest of the time up there...
Friday:
went to the USO for a family breakfast were we met other parents/wives/children/siblings of marines in 2d recon. it was fun, except they cannot brew a good cup of joe. ugh, tasted like dirt. :p okay then we stoped at a thrift store... i tell you those people are trying to rip any and old military people off. The prices for simple things are mad insane. then went to Old*Navy, and some other places to buy clothes. o my there beach is sooo fabulous... the water was quite cold but the waves were lovley. i haven't ever seen so many rocks & shells on a beach before in my whole life either... it was crazy. also checked out where Jonah sleeps and takes showers and eats and microwaves his food and where he keeps his clothing ect. we hung his banner up too, it looked spectacular. :)
Saturday:
headed to Camp Lejune for the homecoming. stood in the cold for what seemed like forever but really probably wasn't as long as it seemed. took a bizzilion pictures, and watched people get teary-eyed. then all 4 buses arrived and everyone ran like mad towards them screaming at the top of their lungs (which i'm sure are extremly soar now). it was posibly the most excting thing i have ever been apart of. we hung out there for i guess... gee i dunno, a long time. heard ever "bad" word in the book. most commonly used would be shit, and fuck.
we ate at Outback, and hung out in the hotel room with Jonah and Garret Leigh.
Sunday:
Drove to Whilmenton (cannot spell), went to their azalia festival or something. i saw a million Hippys it was mad insane. tye-dye EVERYWHERE. pretty cheap too. they have some amazing unique shops full of fun clothes. after that we drove back to Jacksonville, and Jonah got a haircut. which did not look like he even left.... all he had to do was buzz off his sorda side-burns. :D Then we watched 'mars attacks' and hung out for a while. he decided that he needed to go back because he had to fill out paper work. so we all said "good-bye" and dad took him to his barracks.
Monday:
left for home. it was quite a peaceful ride, although i figured it would suck majorly but it didn't.
i read 3 books on the way home, and listened to music. got back around 9 i slept till 10 on tuesday. it was the car-lag. :)
